Manish Jain

Teaching Professor, Creative Learning, IIT Gandhi Nagar

Manish Jain graduated from the Indian Institute of Technology, Kanpur (1993) with a degree in Electrical Engineering and also finished a few courses in EECS at Stanford. He is a Teaching Professor and Principal coordinator of the Center for Creative Learning, a lab in IIT Gandhinagar focusing on creating hands-on content, experiential activities, models, games that can make learning (especially Science/Math/Engineering) engaging and inspiring. Since its inception in 2017, Manish has created 1000+ activities, trained 10,000 teachers, and worked with 50,000 students from across the country. Prior to starting the Center at IIT Gandhinagar, Manish worked in Pune at IUCAA’s Science Center with Arvind Gupta making short films designing toys and activities, conducting workshops and teacher trainings. In his previous avatar, he worked in the area of chip design for 19 years at Synopsys in Bangalore and Mountain View, California, serving as a Director of R&D and Scientist leading the Low Power Simulation efforts, where he had 5 US patents.

Manish’s most recent weekly online live and interactive 1-hour program, 3030STEM and 2020 Lamp Series were a huge success and attracted people from across the country. The program was broadcast live on our YouTube channel every Sunday. The main objective of the program was to Unlock the Hidden Beauty, Mysteries, and Magic of science and Math around us. It was watched by around 1 crore people and the total watch time was 2.36 crore minutes. The feedback from the audience was really overwhelming.
